The One And The Many
Inspired by the Surrealist Manifesto of Andre Breton, The One and The Many is an immersive ride through the psychology of “group think”. Is the collective consensus greater than individual action? Are we solitary visionaries or parts of a whole? How can we trust a movement of like-minded individuals to not turn on us when we disagree? Do our changing perceptions change our world?
The One and The Many deconstructs social and tribal structures through distinctive movement, stark imagery and provocative sound. What happens when fourteen performers are thrown in with Nixon, pugilism, clown hair and the Midnight Cowboy theme? Come find out!
Choreography: Paula Mann Projections: Steve Paul Music and sound design: Christopher Cunningham
And 14 performers: Gabriel Anderson, Kurt Blomberg,
Kaori Kenmotsu, Eben Kowler, Pilar Poeschl, Roxane Wallace,
Kristine Zappa, Kelsey Charlotte, LaTia Childers, Ruth Glaeser,
Torre Edahl, Alice Madden, Bridgett Tegen, Benjamin Swenson-Klatt
